A Langley father is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the safe return of his missing teenage son, whose disappearance is being called suspicious by police.

Nicholas Hannon was last seen by his brother the evening of Feb. 26. The 19-year-old said he was leaving home for a short time, but never returned.

His car was found the next morning at the end of McKinnon Crescent in Langley after someone living in the neighbourhood notified authorities.

RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Holly Marks says its serious crimes division is taking over the file and are treating the incident as suspicious.

"Enough time has passed," she said. "Just nothing glaring has come out to suggest something heinous has happened."

Nicholas’ father, Craig Hannon, said his son has never gone missing before and his disappearance is completely out of character.

"It's very bizarre. Something's happened to him. Someone's got him. Someone's taken him," Hannon said. "I don't know, I just want him back."

He says his son is quiet and never spends the night away from home.

A search of the Derby Ranch area Sunday turned up no sign of the missing man. His family and friends are now putting up posters in the area.

Anyone with information is asked to call Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200.
