Mounties have issued a warrant for a suspect accused of holding up a pawn shop in Kelowna last month, then shooting at police officers during his getaway.

Surrey resident Devan Markcus Wong is believed to be the masked man who was caught on surveillance footage robbing Premier Jewellery and Loans on Dec. 6.

Police arrived at the store and were fired at an unconfirmed number of times as the suspect scaled a fence and escaped down an alley.

Wong, who also goes by Markcus MIX, is considered armed and dangerous and the public is advised not to approach him.

The 19-year-old is believed to be in the Lower Mainland.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call police immediately or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS if they wish to remain anonymous.
