A fog advisory has been issued for parts of central B.C. Thursday morning.

Environment Canada is warning of “near-zero visibility” in the northern parts of the Cariboo region, and the southern areas of Fraser Canyon.

A ridge of high pressure is bringing in dense fog, which will likely dissipate before noon, said the weather agency.

Commuters are advised to prepare for poor visibility on the roads, and to drive to the conditions.

If travel seems hazardous, drivers should ensure they have their lights turned on and they are maintaining a safe following distance from the car in front.
