Vancouver health officials have confirmed that one student at St. George's School has tested positive for the H1N1 virus, also known as swine flu.

Other students at the all-boys school have flu-like symptoms.

Health officials stress there is no evidence of an outbreak and no cause for concern.

The school remains open.

According to a letter sent to parents, the school has secured a large supply of Tamiflu tablets.

Schools across North America have been preparing for the flu season.

At Simon Fraser University, particular attention is being paid to the 2,000 students living in dorms.

They're being given kits containing information and items like hand sanitizer and face masks.

One campus south of the border has been hit early. About 2,000 students at Washington State University have reported symptoms of swine flu.

Experts say the key to prevention is to wash your hands frequently.
