Simon & Garfunkel fans will have to settle for "The Sounds of Silence" this summer after the popular duo postponed their Canada-U.S. tour for a second time.

A message on their website said the tour, set to hit Vancouver July 3, is on hold indefinitely.

The tour was originally slated to begin April, but was postponed while Art Garfunkel recovered from a condition termed vocal paresis.

A message on the website says doctors predict a full recovery but they cannot predict an exact timeline.

The statement says the condition "inhibits the duo" from performing at the highest level," so the tour was put on hold out of respect for their fans.

Garfunkel says "I do feel bad about disrupting so many people's plans but, as I continue to mend, I can't yet bring my 'A Game' to a tour, and I would not perform for you with anything less."

The 16 postponed concerts include a show at Vancouver's General Motors Place.

The duo was also scheduled to perform in Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Halifax.

Tickets can be refunded at the place of purchase.
