A low-tech strategy proved to be cutting-edge for a couple of brazen thieves in Logan Lake, B.C.

The duo staged an early morning heist at a pub in the small southern Interior community, about 50 kilometres southwest of Kamloops.

Logan Lake Mounties say the robbery, itself, was rather uninspired -- a witness saw one man force his way into the closed pub and grabbed some cash, while the accomplice waited in a getaway car.

But it was the escape plan that really got to the point.

RCMP Cpl. Ken Walcott says, before the crime, the pair not only slashed the tires of police vehicles parked at the local detachment, they also carved up the tires of a cruiser parked outside a private home.

In the absence of any pursuit following the break-in, police are asking anyone with information to give them a call.
