Fire fighters are working to extinguish a blaze at a Prince George airport, after flames ripped through an entire hangar on Saturday afternoon.

The fire was reported at 2:40 p.m. at a hangar belonging to Northern Thunderbird Air, a small charter company.

Crews are currently working to keep sparks from affecting neighbouring structures.

RCMP Sgt. Al Steinhauser says the cause has not yet been determined.

"It's too early to tell. Early indications are it may have been an electrical fire," Steinhauser said.

No injuries have been reported.

The wood building dates back to the World War II era, and contains several businesses as well as aircraft.
