The Vancouver Police Department is warning the public that a high risk offender is being released back into the community. Police say Stafford Marvel Lake poses a risk of significant harm to women in Vancouver.

Lake was released to a halfway house today after serving time for violent robbery, sexual assault with a weapon, forcible confinement, being unlawfully at large, and theft under $5,000. Lake is considered a moderate to high risk to re-offend.

Lake is a 57 year old Aboriginal man, 6'1" tall and 234 lbs. He has grey hair, a grey goatee, brown eyes and a tattoo of an eagle on his back.

There are certain conditions he must abide by, following his statutory release. He is to stay away from all intoxicants, and report all relationships with women to his parole officer
