The Amber Alert for a missing four-year-old Surrey, B.C., boy has come to a happy end.

RCMP called off the warning two hours after it was issued Tuesday night after an unmarked police car spotted the car belonging to the boy's father.

Police say the boy was traveling with the 35-year-old.

The alert was issued after officers responded to a domestic dispute call in the 1500-block of King George Blvd. at around 8 p.m.

The boy was located safe and sound just before midnight. A man fitting the description of his father was seen sitting in the back of a police car at the Surrey RCMP detachment.

The youngster has now been returned to his mother.
