A massive fire in Penticton, B.C. overnight has burnt a building holding a strip club, restaurant and liquor store to the ground.

Capt. Fred Kraiger of the Penticton Fire Department told ctvbc.ca the blaze at 123 Front Street began around midnight on Sunday. He estimated two dozen firefighters struggled to extinguish the fire.

He added the building's burnt remains continued to smolder at 4 p.m.

According to fire officials, no one was injured in the blaze and its cause is not yet known.

Kraiger said the building is many decades old, and because it underwent many renovations the blaze was more difficult to put out.
