Vancouver police say that an overnight shooting and double-stabbing that took place within four hours of each other and injured three men are connected, but they have yet to arrest any suspects.

A 17-year-old and a 19-year-old were sent to hospital just before 9 p.m. Thursday, both claiming they had been stabbed in the 4700-block of Slocan Street. The 19-year-old man has since been released.

The shooting took place in the 5200-block of Dumfries Street at around 1 a.m., and a 26-year-old Surrey man suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound in the attack.

Investigators do not believe the incidents were random and are looking into links between the two acts of violence. Anyone with information is asked to call Vancouver police at 604-717-2541.
