Friends of a Kelowna woman who went missing on April 6 are asking the public for help finding her.

Brittney Lee Irving, 24, was last seen by a family member at a Days Inn motel in the 2600-block of Harvey Avenue in Kelowna. She then went missing on her way to meet someone in the Rutland area.

"There's not one moment that goes by that I let my thoughts go into the fact that she may not come home because she's out there somewhere," Irving's friend Marina Parsons told CTV News. "I just want everybody to keep hoping."

There have been reports that Irving left the motel for a drug transaction.

"This isn't just a drug addict gone missing," said Parsons.

"It's so much more than that," said Rochelle Dixon, another friend of Irving's.

On April 7, the day after Irving's disappearance, her empty, blue, 2001 Ford Explorer SUV was found on the side of Phillpot Road in Kelowna.

The West Kelowna RCMP have handled Irving's case cautiously, actively discouraging her friends and family from talking about her disappearance to the public.

Parsons and Dixon say they need the public's help to find their friend.

"Any little bit of information anybody has is so helpful. Please come to the police, come forward," said Dixon. "If it's anonymous and it needs to be, no problem: mail in a letter."

Anyone with information can call the West Kelowna RCMP at 250-768-2880 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
