Mounties in the Vancouver suburb of Maple Ridge, B.C., are investigating a late-night shooting, but they aren't exactly sure where it happened.

A man arrived at Ridge Meadows Hospital, east of Vancouver, around 12:30 a.m. in critical condition with a gunshot wound.

Police have not said if the shooting is gang or drug-related.

The victim's two-door black car was towed from the scene for further investigation.

In a similar attack on May 28, Sarjbit (Steve) Nagra died several hours after being shot in the chest in a residential neighbourhood in the 11400-block of Maple Crescent. He too drove himself to hospital.

The 29-year-old was well known to police and the shooting was a targeted attack, according to Cpl. Dale Carr of the Integrated Homicide Investigative Team.

No arrests have been made in the killing.
