A man in his 70s was killed after being trapped inside a burning home in New Westminster Tuesday night.
Fire crews scrambled to put out the flames that broke out in the single-storey house near Royal Columbian Hospital at around 6:30 p.m.
Crews said it appears the man was trying to get out of the house when he died. He was found unconscious in the front hall and was taken to hospital where he died of his injuries.
Officials believe the fire started in the back part of the home.
