The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is investigating after a body was discovered in a residential area in North Surrey Saturday afternoon.

The body was found by two people out for a walk near 138 Street and 93A Avenue at around 12:30 p.m. Police have so far been tight-lipped about the circumstances.

"I can tell you that it is quite suspicious," Surrey RCMP Insp. Randall Marquardt said. "That's as far as I'm going to go at this point."

Investigators have not revealed the cause of death, the gender of the deceased or how long the body had been at the scene.
