Investigators from the RCMP and Integrated Homicide unit are probing the murder of a woman in the Guildford area of Surrey, B.C., east of Vancouver.
Police are focusing their investigation inside a suite at the Greenwood Garden Apartments in the 14800-block of 104th Ave, an older low-rise apartment complex.
The victim is an adult woman "over the age of 30," but police have not said how she died, or when the incident occurred.
Police received a 911 call around noon Monday to alert them to the apartment complex.
"Patrol officers arrived and discovered a deceased female," Cpl. Dale Carr of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team told CTV. "We know very little right now."
A man was arrested inside the apartment and is now in police custody.
"We do not know the relationship between the two," he said.
There are unconfirmed reports the woman living in the apartment was terminally ill.
Investigation teams are expected to be at the scene well into Monday night gathering evidence and canvassing the neighbourhood.
