One man was arrested after police executed a sweeping series of search warrants across B.C.'s Lower Mainland and Interior.
The person was taken into custody at a home in the 32600-block of Downes Road in Abbotsford.
Bill Whelan of B.C.'s Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU) says search warrants were simultaneously executed at seven different properties in Abbotsford, Burnaby, Langley, Surrey, Chilliwack and Kelowna Thursday.
Whelan says the person in custody is a relative of the property owner, Thong L. Siharaj.
A neighbour told CTV News police descended on the residence around 7:00 a.m., shutting down nearby roads and using a loudspeaker to order people out of the home.
There are multiple surveillance cameras on the Downes Rd. property, including one suspended in a tree.
The CFSEU is an integrated organized crime task force that has been an active part of the investigation into the notorious UN gang, whose alleged leader, Clay Rouche, is awaiting trial in Seattle for drug and money laundering charges.
