The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has been called in following the death of a woman in Port Coquitlam.
Police have released few details but confirmed there is an “active investigation” at a home in the 2400-block of Davies Avenue.
A shotgun was removed from a resident townhome during a police incident Tuesday morning.
A man was taken into custody and IHIT says the incident does not appear random.
A half dozen police cars surrounded the home and it was blocked off with police tape.
CTV Vancouver reporter Peter Grainger described the scene as "eerily quiet," and said neighbours told him a married couple lives in the home with their son.
