Seniors and others who rely on HandyDart buses to get around in Metro Vancouver may soon have to look for alternative forms of transportation.

The workers who run the buses have voted 97 per cent in favour of strike action.

The 500 employees are represented by the Amalgamated Transit Union, which says it's been negotiating for more than eight months with MVT Canadian Bus, the company operating the HandyDart service.

The union says it will give sufficient notice of any job action it may take.
