Vancouver got to off to a quick start in the first. David Musil ripped a point shot on net that was tipped in by Scheidl just 98 seconds into the game.

At the 2:08 mark of the second period Mike Piluso's forechecking caused a turnover, allowing Cunningham to gain control of the puck and throw it at the net where Barnett scored his 12th of the year.

Mappin made it 3-0 when he drove past a defender and jammed the puck past Friesen at 5:38.

Lance Bouma had a great chance to make increase the lead after hitting the post on a breakaway. He was awarded a penalty shot on the play, but the Giants' captain was unable to beat Friesen one-on-one.

Bouma helped make it 4-0 when he fed a great pass to Kytnar, who scored just a minute into the third.

Manning scored at 10:05 to make it 6-2.
