Anyone looking for last-minute tickets to this weekend’s Drake concert in Vancouver should be extra careful, police warned Friday.

Sgt. Brian Montague said generally speaking, investigators have found tickets bought on Craigslist shortly before the show dates have a high probability of being fraudulent.

“There is a good chance you will find yourself standing outside the event, unable to get in, and out-of-pocket for the money you spent,” Montague said in a release.

Drake is scheduled to perform at two sold-out shows at Rogers Arena, on Saturday and Sunday. Floor tickets are currently being advertised for as much as $800 each on Craigslist.

Police caution there’s no way for people who buy fake tickets to know they’re phony until they show up at the concert. The only way to ensure the authenticity of tickets is to buy from a legitimate retailer.

Montague said police get reports of fake tickets for every event held in Vancouver, and while they regularly catch the people responsible, that doesn’t help victims who are left “without tickets or their hard-earned cash.”
