RCMP in Kamloops, B.C. have identified the second of two bodies recovered from a shallow grave on a rural property outside of the city last week.

Sgt. Scott Wilson says 31-year-old Damien Marks has been positively identified based on autopsy findings.

On Friday, police confirmed the body of his roommate, Kenneth Yaretz, 24, was also found on the property.

It is not yet known how the men died.

The bodies were discovered last Wednesday on a 20-acre parcel of land in the resort town of Knouff Lake, near the popular Sun Peaks resort.

The finding brings an end to a nearly six week investigation into the disappearance of two Kamloops roommates.

Marks and Yaretz vanished without a trace on April 17 while in the middle of moving to a four-plex house in Brocklehurst. Yaretz is believed to have ties to the Independent Soldiers criminal gang.

One man was arrested in connection to last week's property search, but RCMP Cst. Cheryl Bush has said the charges against him are unrelated to the homicide investigation.

Any person with information on this investigation is asked to call the Kamloops City RCMP at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS)
