B.C. has four new cases of the H1N1 flu, while the first case of the virus has surfaced in the Yukon.

The B.C. Centre for Disease Control says the total number of people in the province who've come down with the bug is now 83, and all of them have either recovered or are recovering.

Most of the cases have occurred in the Metro Vancouver and Fraser Valley areas.

Meanwhile, Yukon Medical Health Officer Dr. Brendan Hanley says lab tests have confirmed a woman has become the first person in the territory to contract the flu virus.

The woman had recently returned from a trip to Mexico.

She has fully recovered from what Hanley says was a mild case of the virus.
