Eight men have now been charged in connection to an armed robbery at a mall jewelry store in Langley, B.C. this week.

The men were arrested Thursday after robbing the Golden Tree Jewellers in Willowbrook Shopping Centre. Shots were fired during the robbery, and a mall patron was sprayed with bear repellant when he tried to grab one of the suspects.

Several people were treated for eye irritation in connection to the bear spray.

Six men were arrested in Coquitlam and two in Vancouver later that day, and they now face weapons and robbery charges.

The accused are: 31-year-old Dale Patrick Weinmeyer of Vancouver, 33-year-old Lesley Ladouceur of Caslan, Alta., 35-year-old Christopher Leon Reinke of Surrey, 44-year-old Ian Jeffrey Hornal of Surrey, 23-year-old Aras Ahmed-Kadir of Surrey, 31-year-old Paul Rego of Burnaby, 20-year-old Hendren Saleh Abbas of Surrey, and 31-year-old Leonard Cardinal of no fixed address.

Although six of the suspects were found in Coquitlam, officers with the Vancouver Police Department carried out the arrest. Vancouver police say they were investigating the men before the robbery, but are not revealing any information about the nature of the investigation.

All of the suspects remain in custody pending their next court appearance.
