Skiers and snowboarders will be able to hit the slopes early this year on Whistler Mountain.

Thanks to cool temperatures, impressive snow making and new snow, the mountain is opening on Saturday, a week earlier than scheduled, the resort announced Tuesday.

Blackcomb Mountain, however, will open as planned on Nov. 22.

Vancouver’s North Shore ski destinations, Cypress Mountain and Grouse Mountain, are now open for the season.

B.C.’s Interior mountains aren't far behind either. Sun Peaks, just north of Kamloops, says it is on track for first day festivities this Saturday.
