SkyTrain track issues cause lengthy delays for commuters

Update: SkyTrain service is back up and runing, according to TransLink. Delays are expected while regular service levels are restored.

A technical issue with the SkyTrain track between the Main Street and Commercial Drive Stations caused major delays for commuters Tuesday.

TransLink suggested SkyTrain riders take alternate transportation in the morning to avoid long lineups.

The Millennium Line was operating normally and trains on the Expo Line were operating between Surrey and the Edmonds Station in Burnaby.

Shuttle trains were set up between Edmonds and Metrotown, Metrotown and Nanaimo, and Nanaimo and Main Street stations.

No word on when TransLink expects service to be fully restored.
