A 45-year-old repeat sex offender has been arrested once again for allegedly rubbing women’s thighs on buses in Metro Vancouver.

Transit Police said two 19-year-old women were sexually assaulted in separate but similar incidents last month, first on May 2 then again on May 19.

The first victim was riding a bus on Lougheed Highway in Coquitlam when a man sat down beside her, touched her thigh, and starting talking to her inappropriately.

Another passenger saw what was happening and told the man to stop.

The next victim was approached and groped while sitting on a bus at the Metrotown bus loop.

Transit Police said she elbowed her attacker, but instead of leaving her alone he showed her pornographic videos on his phone.

He also made a comment about her body as she was leaving the bus, and proceeded to get off at the same stop.

The woman reported the incident to police and a suspect was taken into custody shortly after.

Jason Steven Taylor, a man with three previous convictions for attacks on transit, has since been charged with two counts of sexual assault.

Taylor been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in court next on June 10.

Anyone who experiences or witnesses harassment or attacks on buses or SkyTrain is urged to contact police. Transit officers can be alerted by texting 877777 or by using the OnDuty phone app.
