Police have released the names of three people accused of leading police on a high-speed chase through the Lower Mainland that ended with one crash, and a pursuit on foot.
Roy Houghton and Jesse Gillanders face charges of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from police and possession of stolen property under $5,000 while a third suspect, Coral Baird, faces a charge of taking an automobile without consent.
RCMP said the three suspects drove into Surrey in two stolen Ford Escapes at around 1 a.m. Friday.
Police said the vehicles were stolen in Chilliwack and were driven through Abbotsford and Langley on Highway 1 before entering Surrey.
RCMP Air 1 video of the chase shows one of the vehicles driving off the road and into a ditch near 64th Avenue and 156th Street at around 1:30 a.m.
The driver was not injured and was arrested at the scene.
The other vehicle kept going, eventually stopping at a parking lot in the 7100-block of Hall Road at around 2 a.m.
Police said the male driver and female passenger of that vehicle fled on foot. They were later located with the help of police dogs and arrested.
