Multiple sailing waits for BC Ferries after further cancellations

BC Ferries cancelled multiple early morning sailings between the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island Thursday morning, as weather warnings due to wind and heavy rain remain in effect.

The cancellations on the major routes follow Christmas Day disruptions, meaning there are multiple sailing waits for would-be passengers without reservations.

As of 10:15 a.m., on the Tsawwassen-Swartz Bay route, the next sailings with available vehicle space in each direction are at 4 p.m.  On the Tsawwassen-Duke Point route, the next sailing with vechile space is at 3:15 p.m. 

The following sailings were cancelled between Tsawwassen and Swartz Bay.

  • 6:00 a.m. departing Swartz Bay
  • 6:00 a.m. departing Tsawwassen
  • 7:00 a.m. departing Swartz Bay
  • 7:00 a.m. departing Tsawwassen
  • 8:00 a.m. departing Swartz Bay
  • 8:00 a.m. departing Tsawwassen
  • 9:00 a.m. departing Swartz Bay
  • 9:00 a.m. departing Tsawwassen

The following sailings were cancelled between Tsawwassen and Duke Point.

  • 5:15 a.m. departing Tsawwassen
  • 5:15 a.m. departing Duke Point
  • 7:45 a.m. departing Tsawwassen
  • 7:45 a.m. departing Duke Point
