A man committed to a psychiatric hospital after murdering two other men in northern B.C. has returned to the facility after vanishing for two days.

Terrance Scott Giesbrecht failed to return to the Forensic Psychiatric Hospital in Coquitlam after a scheduled day pass on Tuesday.

A Canada-wide warrant was issued for the 46-year-old man, who police said had the potential for violent behaviour.

Giesbrecht was found guilty of killing two men in Fort St. John in 2004, but ruled not criminally responsible because of schizophrenia.
