Firefighters are battling a raging warehouse fire that’s sending huge plumes of smoke over South Vancouver.

Crews were dispatched to the area of Sherbrooke Street and Southeast Marine Driver around 6:30 p.m. for what’s described as a two-alarm blaze.

Flames could be seen shooting through the roof of the building, which appears to be a mattress recycling warehouse, just minutes after the fire was reported.

It’s unclear whether the warehouse was closed when the blaze started, but no injuries have been reported.

Authorities were forced to close part of Marine Drive so firefighters could run a fire hose across the road, and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
