A 78-year-old woman is dead after she was struck in a crosswalk on Kingsway Avenue about 8:30 Christmas night.
She was crossing at Earles Street when the vehicle made a left turn onto Kingsway.
The vehicle knocked the woman to the ground and she suffered a severe head injury.
She was rushed to hospital but later died.
The 54-year-old driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with police.
