With a weather warning in place here in B.C., snowy conditions in other parts of the country are having an impact on travel.

While there are no current cancellations for international destinations, some flights to snowy areas like Kamloops, Prince George and Penticton were cancelled Monday morning.

Some flights to Alberta were dropped as well, and the airport authority is asking travelers to check its website before coming to the facility.

The queue for taxi cabs overnight spiraled all the way through the domestic arrivals area as delayed flights from other parts of the country arrived.

Most passengers had just arrived on flights from Calgary and Ottawa that were delayed for up to six hours. In those cities, freezing rain is wreaking havoc on airport operations.

This couldn’t come at a worse time for YVR: This weekend was one of the busiest of the year, with more than 60,000 passengers expected to pass through the airport on each day.

A lot of people coming home from holidays said they were irritated with the delays.

“I’ve never seen a lineup this bad before. This is pretty long. But that’s been every lineup today,” one frustrated traveler told CTV Morning Live.

“There’s no better way to celebrate the New Year than waiting in a big old line,” another said.

Metro Vancouver remains under a rainfall warning Monday, with up to 20 millimetres of rain expected to fall by the evening.

In the province's Interior, the north and central Okanagan cancelled school classes because of the snow.
