Vancouver police have released a composite sketch of a man they believe is responsible for a sexual assault on a 13-year-old girl last month.

Authorities say the girl was approached on Feb. 11 while waiting for a bus in the 6200-block of Knight Street by a man who tried to strike up conversation with her.

He then grabbed her by the shoulders, forcibly kissed her on the cheek and groped her.

Investigators say he was with another man who was not involved in the assault.

The girl was able to run away and report the incident. Police say she was visibly shaken, but unhurt.

The man is described as being 25 to 35-years-old, 5-5 tall, medium skin tone, with short hair or balding, and with facial hair stubble. He was wearing a dark toque, blue jeans and a black leather jacket. He identified himself as Mike.

Anyone with information on the assault is asked to call the Vancouver Police Sex Crimes Unit at 604-717-3473.
