Police are looking for sex offender Gerald Richard McLean after he failed to return to a Vancouver halfway house yesterday.

The 41-year-old had been out on statutory release, serving out the last of his sentence in the community under supervision.

"We have reason to believe he's headed to Enderby, B.C.," Const. Anne Longley told ctvbc.ca. "We are looking for him and want people to keep an eye out."

Longley said McLean, who has a history of sexual assault against children, is at high risk to reoffend.

McLean is a 5-8 tall, 165 pound and Caucasian man with green eyes. He was last seen with long blonde hair and a goatee.

McLean also has a tattoo of an eagle in his upper left arm, a skull on his shoulder, a rope on his upper right arm and a prospector on his upper back.

Police are asking anyone with information on his whereabouts to call 911.
