An unexpected snow storm hit downtown Vancouver on Saturday, stranding buses and snarling traffic.

Several centimeters of slush fell, causing delays on Burrard and Granville Street bridges in a sudden burst of wintry weather.

Buses on Burrard Street were stopped after they were unable to drive up the hill Northbound past Pacific Boulevard onto the bridge.

Rain, hail, snow and slush fell on the streets at various times during the afternoon in the unusual spring weather.

The North Shore and Dunbar communities were also hit hard.
