Police are warning the public about two recent assaults on women in Delta, B.C., that may be related.

On Monday, Delta police say a woman jogging near the 10600-block of Santa Monica Drive in North Delta at 3:48 p.m. was attacked from behind. She told police she heard heavy footsteps approaching her and was then hit her over the head with an unknown object.

The woman was able to run to a residence nearby and phone police. Her physical injuries are minor.

The suspect was last seen by the victim running in the opposite direction.

Her suspect description is limited because the attack was from behind.

The suspect is possibly a male, 5-6 to 5-7, with an athletic build, tanned legs, who was wearing a blue hoodie and black shorts.

Another woman was struck on the head with an unknown object on May 24 at 11:45 p.m. in the 9200-block of 112th Street.

Similar to the most recent incident, the victim heard footsteps behind her before being assaulted when she was on the pathway linking 92A Avenue to Kendale Way.

After going home she called the police and was unable to describe the suspect.
