Two men in their twenties were injured during a targeted shooting in Surrey, B.C., Tuesday night.
It happened just before 8:30 p.m. when a car pulled up alongside an SUV and opened fire while both vehicles were driving along 72nd Ave. in Surrey.
RCMP Const. Dave Attfield says two of the four people in the SUV were hit by bullets. Police met the victims at Surrey Memorial Hospital as their companions brought them in for a medical treatment.
The hospital was locked down for a short time Tuesday night when emergency personnel in the facility realized what was going on.
Both victims are known to police.
One of the men has serious injuries, but is expected to recover. The other was treated and released.
Attfield confirms the shooting was targeted but they have no suspects, and are appealing for witnesses to come forward. Police have seized the SUV as part of the investigation.
This latest incident comes on the heels of two targeted shootings in Abbotsford since Monday night.
In the first, a man in his twenties was found shot to death in a car in a rural area. There was also a drive-by shooting several hours later in which a home was hit by at least one bullet, but no one was hurt.
