The Trans-Canada Highway is open west of Golden, B.C., after being shut down for most of the weekend due to a mudslide in Glacier National Park.
The road was closed after the slide - believed to have been caused by the ongoing thaw in the region - swept across the road.
It remained closed due to the continued threat and work to clear the route.
Highway officials say further traffic disruptions are expected and suggest travellers use Highways 5 or 3.
A Parks Canada official attributed the mud slide to a rapid snow melt in the region.
"The mud started flowing probably as the temperatures rose Wednesday and Thursday in Glacier National Park,'' said Terry McGuire of Parks Canada.
As the slide closed the Trans-Canada Highway at Revelstoke on one side and Golden on the other, the only people not upset and frustrated by the delays were local business owners.
Bruce Omelchuk runs a truck stop in Golden. He says he couldn't see the highway because of the rigs parked along the road.
But the traffic delays may not be over as officials with Parks
