The late Bob Ackles joins Canada's Sports Hall of Fame

Star goalie Patrick Roy, six-time Olympic medallist Clara Hughes and wheelchair racer Chantal Petitclerc head up this year's induction class for Canada's Sports Hall of Fame.

Roy can be seen on TSN's Off The Record tonight at 6pm et/3pm pt.

They will be joined by a trio of champions: driver Jacques Villeneuve, Olympic gold medallist gymnast Kyle Shewfelt, and freestyle skier Jean-Luc Brassard.

Roger Jackson and Bob Ackles join in the builders' category.

Jackson, who headed up Own The Podium for the Vancouver Games, is already in the Hall for his rowing exploits.

The late Ackles was a football front-office legend, with the BC Lions and Dallas Cowboys.

The eight inductees bring the Hall of Fame roster to 514.

The Class of 2010 will be honoured at a dinner in Calgary in November.
