Dylan Reichelt, the son of BC Lions athletic therapist Bill Reichelt, died Saturday night in a car accident.

Police told reporters an 18-year-old passenger of a BMW died in Langley, B.C., when the car lost control while travelling in the 19800-block of 36th Avenue around 9:30 p.m. The driver, 18, was the car's only other occupant and was taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The BMW had been heading east along with a Mazda carrying two other 18-year-olds when the accident occurred. According to RCMP both cars lost control and went off the road in separate directions. The Mazda veered left and crashed into a hedge, and neither occupant was hurt.

Police are not releasing the identity of the deceased at this time, but media outlets are reporting he is Dylan Reichelt.

Police don't believe alcohol was involved in the Langley, B.C., accident, but said poor weather conditions and speed could have played roles in the deadly crash.

"Early indication is that alcohol is not a factor; however, as the investigation unfolds we'll have more answers," Cpl. Kirby Adams told CTV News.

All four 18-year-olds knew each other and police expect charges for the two drivers.
