It was a terrifying night for a pair of B.C. snowshoers stuck on a steep embankment on Cypress Mountain overnight.
A group of six set out Monday night for a few hours of snowshoeing near the cross country trails in West Vancouver, but ran into trouble after wandering off the path.
One man got stuck after falling down a 30-metre embankment, injuring his groin. A female companion stayed with him while the other four went for help, alerting search and rescue crews.
A team of 25 worked together early this morning to bring the injured man off the mountain. The pair reportedly huddled together for warmth on a steep embankment overnight while waiting for help.
The snoeshoer was checked in hospital for his injuries. Aside from being very cold, all group members are doing fine.
