Vancouver police say they’ve received credible tips that a missing British tourist may be on the North Shore.

Rescue teams began scouring the area Tuesday in search of 22-year-old Thomas Billings, who hasn’t been seen or heard from since Nov. 25.

North Shore Rescue confirmed both ground and air teams have been dispatched.

Billings, a seasoned traveller and avid hiker, was reported missing this week after falling out of contact with family and friends.

He had been staying in Vancouver but was expected to enter the U.S. on Nov. 30 and fly home to England on Dec. 7.

He is described as white, 5-7 tall, 160 lbs. with short, blonde hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a black jacket and grey military-style pants.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact police.
