If you have a young gamer on your Christmas list but don't know what to buy --help is on the way. Here are some of some of this year's biggest hits in games rated "E" for everyone.

At two ends of the development scale, Boom Blox and De Blob show the variety now available to gamers. Boom Blox was created with Steven Spielberg while De Blob was developed by a bunch of students.

"It's a beautiful game to watch in motion and the game play is really quite solid," explained Victor Lucas the Executive Producer and host of the show Electric Playground.

One of the highest rated games you can buy is called World of Goo --the simple concept --get the goo into a pipe

"Probably didn't cost them tons of money to make but it is being universally acclaimed,' said Victor.

Nintendo Wii continues to break new ground -- introducing Wii Fit which uses a balance board.

Shaun white snow boarding takes the balance board and gaming to another level.

"It's amped up to 11 when you step on the balance board it's really an addictive thing you really do feel like you are carving down a slope," explained Victor.

Exclusive to the Play Station 3 Little Big Planet is Victor's surprise of the year for its limitless creativity. The creators had a big budget and lots of time and you can change the game and share levels around the world

"It's so charming it's indisputably charming it's a gift to long time players like me," said Victor.

Made for many platforms, Lego Batman and Lego Indiana Jones are hits for the whole family.

So are two movie based games, Kung Fu Panda, and Madagascar Escape 2 Africa.

"The king is hilarious in that game," laughed Victor during his demonstration.

Victor's top picks for racing games are Grid and Pure, an ATV off road racing game.

There are lots of good sports games out this year -- but NBA 2K9 is a cut above.

"It blows your mind about where they are going to take us in the next generation of consoles because I think sports games are going to look better than they do on TV," said Victor.

And for the PC or Mac, Victor likes Spore -an ambitious game which has you starting out as a single cell organism and has you evolve until you go into outer space and conquer other planets.

Looking ahead next year, Nintendo is coming out with a new DS the DSI.
