A man has been charged after equipment allegedly used to make and alter credit cards and fake identification was seized from a Port Coquitlam home.

Police searched the man’s house after obtaining a search warrant, where they also found stolen property and drugs on location.

“This successful investigation has disrupted the local identity theft ring and virtually stopped this 'fake credit cards factory' from running,” said Cpl. Jamie Chung with Coquitlam RCMP.

Alvin Abhai Chand, 43, is now facing four criminal charges for possession of instruments used in forging credit cards, possession of identity documents of another person, and firearms related charges.
