The Integrated Homicide Team (IHIT) is investigating a possible murder in Abbotsford after the the bodies of two young men were found inside a car.

The discovery was made by city maintenance workers who were checking a gravel road on the Sumas First Nation close to Sumas Mountain Road early Friday morning.

The men quickly alerted police, who cordoned off the rural road to investigate.  Investigators, including dog teams, combed the scene Friday afternoon for evidence.

The bodies are still inside the dark Mazda compact car as police try to determine exactly what happened.

Dale Carr of IHIT says the victims identities are not known but it is believed both are in their 20s.

The cause of death has not been released, but Carr says they have "suspicions."

Autopsies are scheduled for Monday or Tuesday.

There have been 21 homicides in B.C.'s Lower Mainland since mid-January.
