Hours after Vancouver police released a list of the top 10 most wanted criminals in B.C. who are evading arrest warrants from other provinces, they announced an arrest.
Andrew Gillis was arrested in New Westminster about noon Friday. The 33-year-old man was picked up after information about his wanted status circulated through police channels, officials said.
He faces assault, break and enter, drug and other charges.
The top 10 list includes a man wanted by Ontario Provincial Police who has 28 outstanding warrants.
Vancouver police are appealing for the public's help in finding the 10 so they can be flown back to the provinces where they are wanted using the so-called ConAir program.
