A man in his 20s is dead after a car accident in Abbotsford on Sunday.

Abbotsford police said a 1997 Chevy Malibu rolled over near Vye Road and Sumas Way at around 2:45 a.m.

Four people were travelling in the car.

A man and woman were treated for minor injuries, one woman was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries and another man died on scene.

The car was heading west on Vye Road when it hit a cement barrier before slamming into a hydro pole then rolling and resting on its roof.

Police said alcohol and speed are likely contributing factors to the accident, but an investigation is ongoing.
