The murder victim discovered in a quiet North Vancouver park on Wednesday was a white woman in her 40s, police say.
The dead woman was found by a local resident in a wooded area of Kirkstone Park, just south of Lynn Valley Road. B.C.'s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is investigating, but police have not yet determined if the body was moved into the park from another location.
A woman who lives near the park told CTV News that the body was inside a white bag in a ditch when it was found.
After an autopsy on Thursday, police determined that the victim was about 5-2 tall, weighed 100 lbs and had light brown hair. Investigators are now reviewing missing-persons reports in an attempt to identify the victim.
