Police say a late-night shooting in Surrey, B.C. appears to have been targeted and gang-related, but there is no evidence yet linking it to the slaying of notorious gangster Jonathan Bacon over the weekend.

No one was shot, but a 32-year-old man sustained minor injuries from flying glass after a vehicle was fired upon Monday night at around 10:40 p.m. in the 10100-block of 152 street.

Mounties say the victim has apparent gang connections that are still being confirmed. He was found in the company of three men, including his 28-year-old brother, whose possible affiliations are unclear.

Police have yet to identify a suspect or a description of the suspect vehicle that fled the area.

There have been fears of violent gang reprisals in British Columbia since Sunday, when an SUV carrying Bacon and a full-patch Hells Angels member was ambushed.

Witnesses reported one or more gunmen wielding automatic weapons unleashed dozens of bullets into the vehicle as it exited the Delta Grand hotel. The suspects fled in a silvery-green SUV.

No arrests have been made in either shooting.

Anyone with information is asked to call RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
